Description
A Victron 48V off-grid kit brings your inverter, battery storage, solar charge controller and monitoring together in one equipment bundle. Choose from four system sizes to compare power output and stored energy without selecting every component individually.
Choose your system size
| System option | Continuous inverter output at 25°C | Proposed battery storage | Victron SmartSolar controller |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3000VA | 2400W | 5.12kWh | MPPT 100/20 (48V-capable model) |
| 5000VA | 4000W | 10.24kWh | MPPT 150/45 |
| 8000VA | 6400W | 15.36kWh | MPPT 250/85-Tr VE.Can |
| 10000VA | 8000W | 20.48kWh | MPPT 250/100-Tr VE.Can |

A guide, not a guarantee. These estimates help you understand power and runtime. Actual results vary; starting surges and battery limits still need checking.
Estimate details
Uses the proposed battery capacities, 10% reserve, 90% assumed load conversion efficiency, inverter idle consumption (11/18/29/38W by size) and 10W for accessories. Inverter watt ratings are at 25°C. Appliances run continuously in this example; fridges and air conditioners cycle, and kettles usually run briefly. Power factor, starting surges, temperature effects and battery discharge limits are not checked. Battery models are still to be confirmed. Exploring a kit here does not change your purchase selection.
Power and storage for your loads
3000VA + 5.12kWh: A starting point for modest daily energy use, such as lighting, communications, electronics and refrigeration. Check appliance starting loads before choosing this size.
5000VA + 10.24kWh: More inverter capacity for overlapping appliance use, paired with twice the proposed storage of the smallest option.
8000VA + 15.36kWh: A larger equipment package for sites with higher simultaneous loads and greater daily energy use.
10000VA + 20.48kWh: The largest option in this range, offering the highest inverter output and proposed storage capacity for a system designed around substantial demand.
Inverter capacity determines how much equipment can run together; battery capacity affects how long it can run. Runtime depends on usable battery energy, appliance consumption and system losses. The final battery must support the inverter’s continuous and starting current requirements. These options are not a guarantee that particular appliances or an entire home can be powered.
Equipment in each bundle
- 1 × Victron MultiPlus-II 230V inverter/charger: 48/3000/35-32, 48/5000/70-50, 48/8000/110-100 or 48/10000/140-100, according to the selected option.
- Proposed lithium battery storage of 5.12, 10.24, 15.36 or 20.48kWh. Battery model and physical module arrangement to be confirmed.
- 1 × Victron SmartSolar MPPT controller as listed in the comparison table.
- 1 × Victron Lynx Distributor M10.
- 1 × Victron Cerbo GX MK2 and 1 × GX Touch 50 display.
- Communication cables appropriate to the final equipment: proposed 1 × 1.8m RJ45 UTP and 1 × 1.8m VE.Direct for the 3000VA and 5000VA options; 2 × 1.8m RJ45 UTP for the 8000VA and 10000VA options.
- Battery communication cable matched to the confirmed battery. A Type B cable is not assumed compatible with every battery.
- Battery/inverter cable and protection kit, with ratings and exact contents to be finalised for each size.
Solar and monitoring
The included MPPT controller accepts a compatible solar array. Solar panels are not included. Panel quantity and string layout must be matched to the controller and installation conditions. Cerbo GX and GX Touch 50 provide local system monitoring; remote monitoring requires an internet connection and appropriate setup.
Supply and installation
These are supply-only equipment bundles. Installation, commissioning, panel mounting, battery cabinets and site-specific wiring are excluded unless expressly itemised. Prewiring and programming are not included as standard. Freight pricing and delivery arrangements are to be confirmed by LIFEPO4 Australia.
