Growatt SPF5000 5kwh OffGrid Inverter 48V
The Growatt SPF5000 ES is a multi-functional off-grid solar inverter that combines an MPPT solar charge controller (120VDC–430VDC), a high-frequency pure sine wave inverter and a UPS module in a single unit. It is well suited to off-grid backup power and self-consumption applications, and can operate with or without batteries. A plug-and-play Wi-Fi/GPRS module provides remote monitoring.

Before you buy – please read this
We want to make sure you get the best possible return on your investment, so we prefer to be completely transparent before you buy: this particular hardware platform has a high failure rate, and in our experience, you shouldn’t expect it to last much beyond two years, the failure rate seems to be extreme. Many people deny its the quality, but we are being honest, they are a get what you pay for product, and they can and do get people into solar systems, so its good and bad for this type of product.
Over the years, we’ve assisted hundreds of customers who purchased these units—both from local suppliers and direct imports—and the failure rates are remarkably consistent. This holds true across most budget power electronics in this tier, including MPP Solar, PowMr, and the dozens of white-labeled Voltronic variants on the market. While they often attract positive reviews online due to their low upfront cost, the real-world operational data tells a very different story once they are put under continuous load.
Power electronics inevitably come down to component quality and thermal headroom. While we’re in business to sell equipment and make a profit, our priority is setting you up with a system that genuinely lasts—not leaving you dealing with a dead system and unexpected replacement costs eighteen months down the track. This is the product that seems to be the most likely to fail of all products, we don’t believe it is up to the quality level Aussie’s are expecting.
The warranty on this unit is notoriously slow and is often denied. If you do proceed, expect claims to be handled slowly a process that can take months, you will have return-shipping costs, and a requirement for very detailed evidence – system photos, installation dates, proof from the qualified installer, and photos of the breakers, fuses, cables and busbars.
Unless you are replacing units that have already failed, we recommend choosing one of the alternatives below instead.
