How to Build Your Ideal System

1) Choose Your Battery Capacity (10–60+ kWh) The SIGENERGY system uses high-performance 10.0 kWh modules (9.04 kWh total / 8.76 kWh usable per module with 314Ah cells).

  • Small homes: 1–2 modules (10–20 kWh)
  • Medium homes: 3–4 modules (30–40 kWh)
  • Larger homes / small commercial: 5–6+ modules (50–60+ kWh)

Modules can be stacked up to 6 per tower for excellent capacity in a compact footprint.

Why the 10.0 kWh Module System Stands Out: This next-generation system offers higher energy density, longer cycle life, and greater usable capacity per module compared to previous versions. It provides outstanding value, reliability, and performance for sustainable, independent energy management.

Technical Specifications:

  • Battery Type: Premium LiFePO₄ with 314Ah cells
  • Total Energy per Module: 9.04 kWh
  • Usable Energy per Module: 8.76 kWh
  • Depth of Discharge: 100%
  • Cycle Life: Up to 10,000 cycles
  • Max Charge/Discharge Power per Module: 4.6 kW (peak 6.9 kW for 10s)
  • Protection: 5-layer advanced battery safety protection
  • Display: Integrated LED on each battery module
  • Installation: Stackable, floor or wall-mount, IP66 rated
  • Commissioning: Fast 5-minute setup
  • Backup Switching: Zero-millisecond load-side disruption
  • Additional Features: V2X bi-directional charging support, one-click diagnostics, AI optimisation, mix old/new modules
  • Warranty: 10 years (standard manufacturer coverage)

Expandable System for All Property Sizes Start with the capacity you need today and expand easily by adding more 10.0 kWh modules as your energy demands grow. The modular design ensures seamless integration.

2) Choose Inverter Size (Sigen Energy Controller) Select single-phase or three-phase controller matched to your solar array and power requirements.

3) Choose a Sigenergy Gateway

  • Gateway Home or Gateway HomeMax for advanced backup, monitoring, and smart energy management.

How to Choose the Right Gateway: Evaluate your monitoring needs, system complexity, property size, and desire for features like EV charger integration. The HomeMax is generally recommended for larger or more complex setups.

Battery Location & Photos

Please read the quick guide before uploading photos. It helps us confirm a compliant and tidy install for your battery system. Pick a sensible spot, upload a few clear photos, and our installer will confirm final compliance with AS/NZS 5139.

Battery Location & Photos — Quick Guide (click to expand)

Where can the battery go?

Indoor (best: garage/utility)

  • Non-habitable areas only (e.g., garage, utility room).
  • Solid wall preferred (brick/concrete or add cement sheet).
  • Keep clear of doors/windows/vents and obvious heat/gas sources.

Outdoor (external wall)

  • Choose a shaded, weather-protected spot (under eaves/awning, we may need to add a weather canopy or awning).
  • Solid wall with non-combustible backing is ideal.
  • Keep away from gas bottles, hot-water units, AC condensers, taps/hoses.

Space requirements

Are always a consideration, we will review your submission and discuss with yourself and the installer the most appropriate location for the system you have chosen

Upload these photos
  • Switchboard — close (door open; main switch/breakers visible).

  • Switchboard — wide (step back to show the whole area).

  • Proposed battery wall — wide (stand back 3–5 m).

  • Tape-measure on wall (show available width; aiming for 3.0 m).
if possible also add
  • Front of house & access (driveway, path, gates/steps).
  • Other side of that wall (what’s behind it).

  • Likely cable route (from switchboard to battery location).

Further information about Gateway

if you want blackout/backup functionality on a residential Sigenergy SigenStor system, the Sigenergy Gateway is generally required. It is the device that isolates the house from the grid during a blackout and manages the backup circuits.

The important distinction is this:

  • No Gateway = battery can still do normal self-consumption/load shifting while the grid is up, but during a blackout the system typically shuts down with the grid and you get no backup power.
  • With Gateway = the system can form an islanded microgrid and continue powering loads during outages.

For Sigenergy specifically:

  • The Gateway handles:
    • Grid disconnection/islanding
    • Automatic transfer to backup
    • Backup load management
    • Generator integration
    • Whole-home or essential-load backup configuration

A few practical notes relevant to Australian installs:

  • Single-phase systems usually use the Sigen Gateway SP AU
  • Three-phase homes use the Gateway TP AU
  • You can configure:
    • Essential loads backup only (most common and cheaper)
    • Whole-home backup (possible, but depends on supply size/load design)

Also important:

  • Sigenergy backup switchover is marketed as essentially seamless/UPS-like for many loads.
  • Without the gateway, installers cannot legally/safely provide anti-islanding backup operation because the inverter must disconnect from the grid during outages.
