For backup power
Keep essential circuits running during outages, with enough battery capacity to make backup power feel practical rather than token.
For lower bills
Store daytime solar and use it later, helping reduce grid imports during evening peak usage.
For high-usage homes
Designed for homes with pools, ducted air conditioning, EV charging, workshops, rural loads or large families.
Why we like this battery package
The battery bank is the heart of the system. RUIXU Lithi2-16 batteries use large-format 314Ah LiFePO4 cells, which is the cell size we prefer for long-life stationary energy storage.
In our experience, bigger high-quality cells are usually the better direction for a home battery that needs to work hard for many years. The 314Ah format means fewer cells and fewer internal cell connections for the same total capacity, which is one of the reasons we rate this battery highly.
That does not mean any battery lasts forever. Correct design, installation, firmware, settings, temperature, discharge depth and daily use all matter. But if you are choosing a battery for serious long-term use, the cell format is worth paying attention to.
Included hardware
- Deye 10kW hybrid inverter – SUN-10K-SG02LP1-AU-AM3 single-phase hybrid inverter.
- 3 x RUIXU 16kWh batteries – approximately 48kWh of battery storage.
- Standard installation allowance – subject to site inspection and the conditions below.
- Compliance paperwork – electrical certificate, commissioning and standard network/rebate documentation where eligible.
Deye inverter features
- 10kW single-phase hybrid inverter, the largest single-phase size accepted by many Australian DNSPs.
- 3 MPPTs with wide solar design flexibility.
- Backup/UPS functionality for selected circuits.
- Generator auto-start capability when configured correctly.
- Suitable for on-grid, backup and many off-grid designs.
- For off-grid or very large loads, 12kW, 16kW or 3-phase designs may be more appropriate.
Who this system suits
Large family homes
For customers who use a lot of power at night and want to store more of their solar generation.
Backup-focused homes
For people who care about outages, refrigeration, internet, lighting, pumps or selected essential loads.
Off-grid planning
For customers who want a large 48V battery bank with inverter options that can grow into more serious off-grid designs.

Standard installation allowance
The advertised installed price is based on a standard installation. We confirm this before the job proceeds, because every switchboard and property is different.
- Single-phase premises with suitable switchboard condition and spare capacity.
- Main switchboard reasonably close to the inverter/battery location.
- Ground-level or straightforward mounting position with safe access.
- Normal cable routing without major trenching, concrete drilling, scaffolding or structural work.
- Suitable internet/monitoring access where required.
- No switchboard upgrade, meter complication, asbestos board, strata issue or network-specific complication unless quoted separately.
Common items not included in the standard price
Electrical upgrades
Switchboard upgrades, ceramic fuse boards, asbestos boards, inadequate spare poles, safety switch upgrades or major metering work.
Access and cabling
Long cable runs, trenching, concrete drilling, roof access issues, scaffolding, crane work or difficult mounting locations.
Non-standard design
3-phase work, additional backup circuits, off-grid engineering, generator integration beyond standard allowance, council, strata or travel surcharges.
Warranty and compliance
- 10-year manufacturer warranty on inverter and batteries, subject to manufacturer terms.
- Installed by appropriately licensed electricians and solar/battery installers.
- Designed around Australian battery installation requirements, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5139 where applicable.

Questions people ask before choosing this system
Is 48kWh too much battery?
For a small low-usage home, probably. For high-usage homes, EV charging, pools, ducted air conditioning, rural loads or backup-focused customers, it can be a very sensible size. Oversizing the battery bank can also be simpler than trying to design a system that only just meets your worst-case winter usage.
Can this run my whole house in a blackout?
That depends on your switchboard, loads and final backup design. Most installations use selected backup circuits. Whole-home backup may be possible in some cases, but it needs to be designed and quoted properly.
Can I use this off-grid?
Yes, this type of battery bank can suit off-grid designs, but off-grid systems need more design work. Inverter size, generator input, solar array size, winter sunlight and peak loads all matter. Off-grid installations may cost more because of design complexity and installer availability.
Why not just buy a smaller battery?
You can, and sometimes you should. But many households underestimate winter usage, evening loads and backup needs. A larger battery bank gives more breathing room, especially when the customer values reliability and comfort more than the absolute lowest upfront cost.
